Season 2 of MW3 is underway with new content for players to digest. Initial reactions are flooding in, with fan sentiment positive on what they’ve experienced so far.

MW3‘s arrival was divisive, to say the least, as the game’s campaign was ripped to shreds via social media and players alike. On the flip side, the multiplayer was blasted by some for feeling like a technical step backward in some regards.

Despite those sentiments, Sledgehammer Games has pushed forward with two seasons of content for fans to digest.

Arriving in early February, Season 2 is underway, and fans are sharing their experiences so far, with a majority of overwhelming praise coming in. That is, unless Zombies is your area of expertise.

MW3 players praise Season 2 update

The discussion comes from the game’s subreddit, where player fearful_claw02 posted: “Thoughts on Season 2?” The discussion was open to all forms of feedback from the player base, from the Battle Pass to the bundles and player experiences.

“The free content is really good so far. Departures, Vista, and Stash House are great original maps,” one player said. Another cosigned that sentiment: “Map variety is a huge improvement from Season 1.”

“Content-wise, the season is awesome. The Battle Pass is good, I could care less about WhaleCell, overall it is a decent season,” one player replied.

However, that player continued: “My biggest gripe though, is that it’s a zombies-themed season, with no new substantial content for Zombies.”

For the unaware, this season’s launch featured nothing for Zombies players. All the new content will arrive during a mid-season update, which certainly feels like a dropped ball with Rick Grimes as the main draw with Season 2.

While Season 2 is still in its infancy, there’s still plenty of time for opinions to sway in either direction. Perhaps, a surprise Zombies infusion will arrive, but for now, it seems fans label Season 2 a “huge dub” for MW3.
