Four North American Teams Win CWL Anaheim Open Bracket to Make it into Pool Play
The final major open event of the 2018 CWL Season is well underway, as four open bracket teams have made it into their respective pools to compete for the CWL Anaheim $200,000 prize pool.
Over 100 teams came to compete in the open bracket, and as they battled it out in the best-of-three Winners Bracket, the number dwindled to eight.
Of those, four teams would advance to Pool Play while others fell to the Knockout phase and would have a chance to make a Losers Bracket run.
The four teams to make it out of Winners Bracket and into Pool Play were Ghost Gaming, Enigma6 Group, Elevate, and Conquest Esports.
Ghost Gaming defeated Heretics 3-0 to make Pool A, while Enigma6 won 3-0 against Brash to join Pool B, Elevate advanced to Pool C with a 3-1 win over Impact, and Conquest beat out Lightning Pandas 3-1 to enter Pool D.
Conquest are of course the surprise team, but fans familiar with the online Search and Destroy scene may be familiar with some of their players.
