A Walmart worker is being praised online after a viral clip showed the employee warning shoppers at the self-checkout about customers who were running a ‘scam.’

Another viral Walmart moment is taking over social media after one dedicated worker urged shoppers against paying for other customers’ groceries.

The clip was captured by TikTok user ‘One Cute Couponer,’ who uploaded the video on January 27, and it’s sparking quite the debate in the comments section.

The video, which has racked up nearly one million views, shows a Walmart employee loudly calling out two shoppers for supposedly asking other customers to pay for their groceries — only to return them in a scheme to score some quick cash.

“You do it all the time. You turn around and you return it. You’re ripping my customers off,” the worker said before urging a security guard to “escort” the pair off the premises.

The worker then turned around and addressed the other shoppers waiting for their turn at the self-checkout, warning them against paying for strangers’ shopping carts.

“It’s a complete scam,” she continued. “Don’t ever buy groceries for anybody in the store. It is a scam. ‘Cause they turn around and they return it.”

Commenters were quick to praise the worker for alerting other customers of the alleged scam, with many claiming to have seen similar schemes in action at their own Walmarts.

“They come up to people and ask for help buying formula, and then they’ll go back and return it for store credit,” one viewer clarified.

“The fact that some people cannot afford groceries and are then asked to take advantage of someone’s generosity,” another said.

“There are way too many resources out there, that this is a huge red flag,” yet another argued. “Don’t ever let somebody guilt you into paying for their stuff.”

This is just the latest Walmart worker to get praise from social media users after Gail Lewis took over TikTok earlier this year for quitting her job after ten years of working at the retail store.
