Valentine's basket

A couple sparked a debate when they showed a video of Valentine’s Day baskets they’d made for one another, with many suggesting that the woman had been short changed.

If you’ve stepped foot in Target over the past week, then you’ll know that the store is kitted out in red and pink, in honor of the upcoming Valentine season.

One couple decided that it was time to take part in the festivities, and make each other baskets filled with Valentine’s themed treats.

In the video, they each give one another 30 seconds to pick out gifts they thought the other would enjoy and place them inside a woven basket.

Grace got her boyfriend a PlayStation 5 controller, a gaming gift card, a Red Lobster and Domino’s gift card, a Stanley tumbler, and a few more items.

When Ingrid was given her basket at the end of the video, we could see that she’d been given a Valentine’s Day Stanley, a throw blanket, an Instax mini camera, chocolate, makeup remover wipes, and a candle.

Perhaps the most bizarre gift she was given however, was a pregnancy test, and she looked visibly confused by her boyfriend’s decision.

TikTok debate the couple’s basket exchange

After the video went live, people couldn’t wait to dive right in, and share what they thought of the couple’s basket exchange.

“You spent more money than he did,” one said followed by a crying emoji. “But seriously though… I’m broke.”

“Not you getting him headphones, a controller, multiple gift cards, etc and his a** got you a pregnancy test and a candle,” another wrote, followed by a skull and cross-bone.

However, some defended the man’s gift choices, saying “(It’s) not about how much you spend, it’s the thought that counts.

Many of the comments were flooded by bemused users, who couldn’t believe to see a Valentine’s Day Stanley cup just sitting in store.

“How is nobody talking about how she just casually found a Valentine’s Day Stanley!”

Another TikToker went viral this monthm, after she shared a Walmart Valentine’s Day gift that everyone was obsessed with.
