A Five Nights at Freddy’s fan created an MK1 mod that turns Freddy Fazbear into a Kameo character with Cyrax’s explosive abilities.

In the two months since its launch, the PC modding community has already fitted Mortal Kombat 1 with a few new features. For example, one mod allows users to enjoy MK1 in first-person.

Other mods have unlocked 60 FPS capabilities, reworked certain character skins, and even added theme music from older entries.

Of course, modders were bound to implement character skins from other franchises as well. With Five Nights at Freddy’s hitting theaters soon, it makes sense that a certain animatronic would join the fun.

MK1 PC mod replaces Cyrax with Freddy Fazbear from FNAF

A modder named HiBlakkes recently created a Mortal Kombat 1 mod that lets users bring Freddy Fazbear to the fight as a Kameo.

Better still, once added, the FNAF skin takes over Cyrax, meaning Freddy can get up to all kinds of explosive nonsense. PC users can download the build on NexusMods, its file size coming in at less than 21MB.

YouTuber Mike Monty showcased the Freddy Fazbear build, which sees the animatronic bear team up with Scorpion.

Strangely enough, Cyrax does seem a good baseline for a Freddy Fazbear MK1 mod. Both are upright robots, so Cyrax’s ability to break apart and piece himself back together works well with the Five Nights at Freddy’s antagonist.

This particular mod could be in for a boost in popularity over the course of the next several days, too. The FNAF movie adaptation will creep into theaters on Friday, October 27.

But players eager to see popular characters from other brands join the Mortal Kombat roster in an official capacity need not fret. Invincible’s Omni-Man serves as the first post-launch guest fighter. He’s expected to arrive on an unspecified date in November 2023. The likes of Peacemaker and Homelander will follow in 2024.
