The long-awaited release of Konami’s eFootball 2024 features an abundance of new content and enhancements that rival those of its upcoming EA Sports counterpart. Here are all the patch notes, which include information about the new features the update adds to the core game.

eFootball represented a major departure from Konami’s previous PES titles. The launch of the franchise in 2020 was not merely an update or a rebranding, but rather a complete transformation.

One of the most significant alterations was the transition to a free-to-play business model, which made the game accessible to a broader audience. This strategic move was intended to compete with Electronic Arts’ established FIFA franchise and to entice both new and returning players.

While the game has entered its fourth year, eFootball 2024 has finally been released with a massive amount of new content, including new gameplay features, booster packs, a startup campaign, and much more.

Here are all the patch notes for eFootball 2024 v3.0.0 update.

eFootball 2024 3.0.0 update features

This massive upgrade includes a slew of new features, including access to additional leagues, thousands of player faces, updated kits, and much more. In addition, Konami has fixed a wide variety of issues that players have encountered.

The primary modifications to the game revolve around the dribbling and defending mechanics. To better control the ball and even dribble through packed circumstances, users will be able to emulate the split-second decisions made at the best level of football, thanks to the improved control responses.

eFootball Booster Pack
Booster Packs are the latest addition to the game that provides certain abilities to your player.

Users will also be able to better coordinate their team and tactical models, leading to greater opportunities to score goals in the virtual environment, as a result of the improved precision of their individual talents.

In addition, a new feature known as Boosters has been added. The new Boosters system in eFootball allows gamers to further improve the skills of their chosen players. With the help of boosters, users can increase the effectiveness of their Dream Team above the regular limits (99 limit), allowing them to maximize the potential of each team member.

eFootball Startup Campaign
Players can get plenty of freebies during the Startup Campaign period.

Also, beginning with Season 1, Konami is running a brand-new Startup Campaign. Players of all skill levels can take advantage of the new campaign’s in-game rewards, from those who are brand new to Konami Football to those who have been playing for years.

Login Bonuses give players the opportunity to earn extra content, such as 120 eFootball Coins, 360,000 GP, 60,000 EXP, and 4 Chance Deals. In addition, there are 400,000 GP, 120,000 EXP, 100 eFootball coins, and 4 Skill Training Programs up for grabs through the campaign milestones.

eFootball 2024 update 3.0.0 patch notes

There have been an incredible number of tweaks and fixes implemented in this Season 1 update for eFootball 2024, all of which are detailed in this post.

In order to keep this concise, we have highlighted many of the most important aspects.

Improved Play Control Liberty for Chance Creations

Improved Response for Split-second Decisions

  • For ball control and dribbling, the response after ball touches have been greatly improved. This allows players to carry the ball with finer touches. Until now, there have been instances where despite being in close proximity of the goal, players would try to kick with a big motion and the ball was lost to the opposition before they could complete the shot.
  • Therefore, we have added new shooting motions so that when players attempt a shot close to the goal with a weak Power Gauge input, the priority is now to kick the ball quickly with respect to the circumstances.
  • Regarding defence, a particularly common feedback was that players were unable to block the ball, even when the Match-up command is performed in a position where it is clearly possible for them to perform a block. To improve this particular facet of play, we have added new blocking motions as well as implemented further adjustments to the timing of blocks.
  • Regarding clearances, there have been instances where players would attempt to kick the ball away with a huge motion, resulting in the opposition reclaiming possession before the kick could be performed. Therefore new motions were also added, which in some situations can help prioritize speed rather than distance.
  • New punching motions have been added for goalkeepers. These additions will surely help enhance the conviction of air battles within the box.

Ball Control and Goal Awareness

  • Body orientation is one of the most important elements in football. With this update, players will now receive passes with a greater awareness on the direction of the goal. If a directional input is not performed when controlling the ball, the player will now automatically control the ball in the direction of the goal.
  • These adjustments will surely help facilitate a smooth transition into goal-scoring actions. When you next play a match, you will perhaps notice that players are now less likely to take a touch with their backs towards the goal or attempt to kick the ball from an unnatural body position.

New VS AI Matches with Lifelike Mentality

  • In line with the new gameplay, we have redesigned the opposition’s footballing mentality in VS AI Matches. Players will now make more appropriate decisions in the right timing. Depending on their abilities, they may perform a variety of actions such as breaking through with feints, dribbling with more ball-holding intensity or play lofted passes to open the pitch.
  • Last, but not least, we have also adjusted the difficulty balance of each Match Level.

Changes to Sharp Touch (excluding iOS and Android)

  • Previously, performing a Dash Dribble would sometimes unintentionally trigger the Sharp Touch command. For this reason, we have changed the default Sharp Touch command to “pressing the Dash button twice”.
  • If you prefer the original method of input, simply go to [Command Configuration] > [Detailed Settings] > [Sharp Touch Type] and select “Pressing once”.

Form of Players

  • Players with “Standard” or “Inconsistent” Form may often be in “Poor” or below Conditions, and hence were often disregarded in the selection process of substitutes. In light of this, the probability of “Poor” or below Conditions has been reduced for players with “Standard” or “Inconsistent” Form.
  • The conditioning probability for players with “Unwavering” Form, on the other hand, remains unchanged. As a result of this adjustment, when players with “Inconsistent” Form have a “B” or higher Live Update Rating, their Conditions will be set to “Normal” or above.

“Boosters” – A World Beyond 99

Introducing “Boosters” – a brand new special feature for players. “Boosters” enhance certain Player Stats and allow players to perform beyond the normal ceiling of 99. This addition will surely allow players to express their individuality more than ever before.

Examples of Booster Types:

TypePlayer Stats Enhanced
Free-kick TakingFinishing, Set Piece Taking, Curl, Kicking Power
TechniqueBall Control, Dribbling, Tight Possession, Low Pass
AgilitySpeed, Acceleration, Balance, Stamina

New types of Boosters will be introduced in due course. Player-specific Boosters with exclusive enhancements will also be available in the future.

Feature Addition and Changes

  • From v3.0.0 onwards, “Team Playstyle Level” will no longer be a gameplay element. Therefore, players will not have “Team Playstyle Proficiency”, and their Abilities will no longer be increased or decreased according to their Team Playstyle Proficiency values regardless of the Team Playstyle adopted.
  • Previously, certain Standard players would have had a different player image once they reached Max Level. This feature will no longer be a gameplay element, and changes to player images will no longer occur. Users who possess max level Player Cards with a different image will see the image being reverted back to the status at the timing of signing.
  • Foil Player Cards, which could be signed from the Standard Player List at a low probability, are no longer available.
  • In the pre-match [Game Plan] > [Player Details] screen, Condition-related increases/decreases of Player Stats are no longer displayed.
  • Challenge Events with Event Conditions have been renamed as “Themed Events”. Also, Event-exclusive “Loan Players” have been made available so that users can immediately participate in Themed Events even if they do not have enough players that match the Event Conditions.
  • The “Rainy” and “Snow” Weather options have been made available for certain stadiums.
  • “Base Team Settings” is now placed in the Game Plan, rather than the User Information.
  • Base Teams can now be set for each Game Plan.
  • Level Training and Player Progression can now be performed from the Player Details screen in Game Plan.
  • Updated selectable Authentic Teams in “Trial Match”/”Friend Match”.
