failed first date

A man drove eight hours to meet his date and was ghosted when he was only 20 minutes away from meeting her.

TikToker Zakir has been known to share his dating experiences, as he recently went on a Bumble date where the girl brought her parents.

However, his latest encounter included an eight-hour drive with nothing to show for it.

Though the girl ghosted him last minute when he was only 20 minutes away, do the two still talk?

Man ultimately drives 16 hours for failed first date

Zakir was eager to meet his date for the first time, so eager that he drove eight hours each way to see her. Though the girl showed interest in him first, she ultimately let him down the best way she could.

Sure, they bonded over Tikka Masala, as she slid into his DMs to ask him how “spicy” he liked the entree to be, but Zakir’s impression afterward was apparently not enough for the girl to jump at the chance to meet him.

When he was only 20 minutes away from where she told him she lived, the girl put an instant stop to the date, as she lied to Zakir about living with her parents — having told him she lived with friends.

Zakir wasn’t upset, though, offering to do whatever he could do to make her comfortable to get together. However, the girl eventually told him that she would prefer to date someone of her religion so that she could respect her “family’s wishes” for her love life.

Though Zakir understood, he shared his sarcastic reply to the girl in his viral TikTok, “It’s better you tell me this now after I drove eight f*cking hours for me to come see you!”

Viewers of Zakir’s explanation of his failed first date commented on his attempt, “16 hours. Bro, you drove 16 hours.” And, “You are a hopeless romantic and deserve the best.”

Some viewers also commented that Zakir should “raise” his standards when it comes to dating so he doesn’t have to go through so many failed attempts.

Though the girl made it clear that the two won’t be anything romantic due to her “family’s wishes,” it’s unknown if they will continue in friendship, as Zakir did not say if he’d like to try to keep their talking lines open.
