One of Warzone’s most iconic assault rifles is now the “best” choice in the battle royale after it got a “double buff” in the October 23 update.

While Modern Warfare 3 is on the horizon and will start running with the CoD baton before long, both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone have received some crucial updates.

On the battle royale front, the Warzone devs have continued to tweak weapons in order to better balance the meta. The start of Season 6 saw some sweeping changes on that front and it’s only continued with updates throughout the season.

The most recent update came on October 23, with the powerful Lockwood 300 shotgun, TR-76 Geist, and Kastov 762 being nerfed. Those changes have opened a door for others to step up and take their place in the meta, and one AR is now the “best” choice around.

That AR, you ask? Well, it’s the M4. Warzone guru Metaphor highlighted it in his October 24 video, stating with its recent buff and other ARs being nerfed around, the CoD fan-favorite has gotten a “double buff” in a way.

“This gun is finally the best AR in the game, in my honest opinion,” Metaphor said. “This is a double buff for the M4, not only did the M4 get buffed but other guns got nerfed, specifically the guns at the very top and that ends up just pushing it to the very top.”

The build for the AR is quite similar to other meta options too. The likes of the Hightower 20’ Barrel, Aim OP-V4 sight, and FTAC Ripper 56 underbarrel all being used.

  • Muzzle: Cronen OP44
  • Barrel: Hightower 20’ barrel
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
  • Optic: Aim OP-V4
  • Magazine: 45 Round mag

On top of that, the YouTuber also noted that the M4 is a particularly good choice for mouse and keyboard users too because of its damage profiles and recoil.

If you’re not sold on that, however, you can always use the ISO Hemlock, which JGOD has highlighted as a “frontrunner” for the new meta.
