Evangelion Nendoroids get reissues & new Gendo Ikari figure

As with many anime figures, Nendoroids get discontinued after the stock depletes. Now, GoodSmile is relaunching three Evangelion Nendos to make up for it.

In the Evangelion movie, End of Evangelion, everyone famously turns into giant puddles of orange juice – LCL. Much like the people all popping into nothingness, anime figures tend to it as well.

The latest reissues of Nendoroids from GoodSmile have included Dark Magician Girl from Yu-Gi-Oh, but now the Rebuild of Evangelion figures are back.

Evangelion’s Rei, Asuka & Mari all get reissued Nendoroids

Being reissued are Eva-02 pilot, Asuka, and Eva-00’s Rei. Also joining them is Mari, who was introduced in the Rebuild movies as a new character. The trio were originally released a few years back but were quickly swept up and disappeared from stock.

GoodSmile’s reissues will all launch in September 2024, just before the release of a new Gendo Ikari Nendoroid. Also joining them in July are some fairly unique blind boxes to go with the figures.

The three Nendoroids will run you around $40, with a $2 discount during pre-orders. They’re available at Hobby Link Japan and other good stores. They also come with some accessories.

These accessories for Mari include her sniper rifle, while Asuka comes with a dual-bladed staff. Rei, who is sporting her usual non-plussed look, comes with a scythe. All three sport their pilot seats for extra poses.

Gendo gets his own Evangelion Nendoroid

Gendo Ikari meanwhile will cost around $50, with HLJ currently charging $52 with a small discount. It comes with a desk to give you the ultimate pose of all time. It launches in November 2024 and is available for pre-order now.

This should go perfectly with the new blind boxes GoodSmile also has for pre-order.

Evangelion’s Rebuild movies started as remakes but soon spiraled into their own storylines. After a several-year gap between 3.0 and 3.0+1.0, it was eventually released in 2021. The franchise has remained relatively dormant since then, but the merchandise train keeps ticking along.
