A WoW player has created a touching tribute to their late father, and the game’s community is blown away.

With a game that has been around as long as WoW, there is a lot of sentimentality attached to its and its characters by the players.

Many of these fans have tried to find ways to capture that emotion, and the community always seems to appreciate these stories.

This is the case with a recent story that a player has shared about how they’ve created a wonderfully touching tribute to their late father, and the community loves it.

WoW fan creates beautiful tribute to father

The story was shared over on the WoW subreddit, in which the creator says, “My Dad Lives On Through Wow.”

They go on to explain how their father introduced WoW into their lives, and how they carred that on as they grew up.

However, the story takes a tragic turn when their father passes away in 2011. Obviously, this was a difficult event for the player to go through.

Fortunately, they were able to rediscover their father’s character, a dwarf named Gaaron, and now, whenever they are missing their father, they can log in and play as Gaaron for awhile.

“My dad lives on through this little goofy dwarf he’s tended to since 2008 and whenever I miss him Gaaron is always kicking around for a nostalgic walk and some serotonin.”

The story, naturally, has resonated with the community, who responded with condolences and kindness: “Dude this broke my heart. As someone who lost her father too, my sincere condolence to you. My father also played wow, I’m happy to see this game can help us all.”

Some members have even taken the time to share their own stories or point towards others that have a similar feel.

It is clear that WoW continues to have a special place in the community’s hearts, whether it be from their time in-game or who they spent that time with.
