WoW player stunned after Druid’s amazing act of kindness in Season of Discovery
One player was left stunned in World of Warcraft: Season of Discovery following an immense act of charity from a passing Druid.
Season of Discovery has breathed fresh life into the Classic World of Warcraft formula, changing much about the existing class system and game world.
One of the significant new features is The Battle for Ashenvale, an open-world PvP experience that allows players of the two factions to clash for rewards and reputation.
As part of this offering, players can access a fresh mount in either the Trainee’s Sentinel Nightsaber for the Alliance or the Trainee’s Outrider Wolf for the Horde. To earn it, players must reach a Friendly reputation with their associated faction vendor, before buying the mount for the significant sum of 10g.
Passing Druid buys mount for grateful player in Season of Discovery
In a post on Reddit, one user shared the heartwarming story of a wandering Druid who helped him to get the mount during their time of need.
After arriving at the vendor and realizing they didn’t have enough money to buy the mount and still be in a good position for the next phase, they turned and left. That’s when the hero of the hour stepped in, asking the player if they would like to PvP before eventually buying the mount for them.
In the replies to the post, others were keen to share their own stories of charitable and friendly players in Season of Discovery.
One said: “Just yesterday, I was going to Wetlands to get a rune for my Level 10 druid. Obviously, I chalked it up as a death run. Killed by multiple 25 Alliance along the way (and many mobs). Once I got to the ‘quest’ giver, I turned around and found myself face to face with a 25 Druid night elf. She beckons me to follow her and proceeds to safely escort me to a lake where I finish the rune quest.”
Another added: “I remember when I first started playing wow in TBC, a guildie gave me the few hundred gold (or whatever it was back then) for my first flying mount. I was in shock. I had never seen that much gold. And he just gave it to me. I love this game sometimes.”
A third added: “This druid needed help with one of his runes so I obliged, I’m not one to turn down some easy gold mind you. We went off and killed the mobs, and he got his drop. This man proceeded to open trade me 3g, some swiftness pots, health pots, and a piece of green gear (which was an upgrade for me). Definitely worth the hour of my time to help out a homie.”
Stories like the ones above are a big part of what makes MMOs so appealing to the broader gaming community. Though there is undoubtedly a flip side to that coin, it’s nice to know there are still plenty of good people out there.
