NIVO, a London-based esports management business catering to some of the most high-profile players in Valorant, has partnered with The Edge HPL to create the NIVO High Performance Division.

NIVO, which represents some of the top Valorant players in Europe like Fnatic’s Nikita ‘Derke‘ Sirmitev, Timofey ‘Chronicle‘ Khromov and Team Liquid’s James ‘Mistic’ Orfila, has started a new high-performance program with help from The Edge HLP.

The EDG HPL is a consultancy company used by some of the top European professionals in Formula 1, boxing, soccer, and C-Suit Executives. The Edge has worked with George Russell, Natasha Jonas, and Aleksandar Mitrovic to help them get where they need to be to perform at a higher level than just their best. The company helps create nutrition and high-performance plans to enhance individuals to the full extent.

As part of the program and partnership, NIVO will work closely with The Edge to create unique programs to address the “challenges faced by esports professionals in order to transform how esports athletes utilize the power of science and nutrition to optimize their health, performance, and overall qualify of life,” according to a press release.

The sixth-month-long program, which will feature pros from the NIVO clientele, will see participants improve their sleep, nutrition, hydration and preparation for travel and competing in Valorant esports.

“We believe that esports athletes should receive the same level of holistic support as Premier
League footballers, World Champion boxers, and Formula 1 drivers, and improving education on
how to maximize performance both on and off the server is an essential component of this,” NIVO CEO Tom Murray said in a press release.

The Managing Director of The Edge HPL, Dr. Scott Robinson said that it was made apparent after initial discussions surrounding the program that there is a cross-over between the daily challenges faced by esports and sports athletes.

“This collaboration builds on over 40 years of combined experience across academic and professional practice and was developed in conjunction with esports athletes to ensure NIVO’s clients have the knowledge, tools, and practical ‘know how’ to perform at their best, consistently,” he said.

Performance coaches and consultants have been a part of esports in recent years, however, teams have had to prioritize other aspects of the business as the industry has started to face negative headwinds and layoffs.

This program, run through the player’s management and not the team the player is competing for, is a new development in the space.
