Does Lloyd die in Yellowstone?

As Rip’s right-hand man and a leader of the bunkhouse boys, Lloyd is a major presence in Yellowstone — but does he die? Here’s what you need to know.

Each one of the bunkhouse boys (and girls) have their own distinct personality. Some are wiser and more seasoned on the Dutton ranch, while others still have a lot to learn. Lloyd falls into the former group — smart, witty, and a cowboy through-and-through.

But with Yellowstone killing off as many characters as it does, nobody is safe. Some of the best Yellowstone episodes involve something awful happening to our favorite ranch hands, and even Lloyd has been known to get into trouble from time to time.

So, five seasons in and a whole bunch of drama later, does Lloyd die? Here’s everything you need to know about his Yellowstone fate.

Lloyd’s Yellowstone fate explained

No, Lloyd hasn’t died on Yellowstone… yet.

As we said, anyone’s up for grabs by the Grim Reaper in Taylor Sheridan’s drama series. He wouldn’t be the first ranch hand to bite the dust. But as it stands, Lloyd is alive and well, staying behind to run the ranch while Rip, Jake, Walker, Teeter, and Ryan head to Texas in an attempt to save their cattle.

While Lloyd doesn’t have any direct enemies, anything could still happen at this stage. If the Dutton Ranch comes under siege yet again (this time, with half the hands in a different State), who’s to say what could happen to Lloyd?

What’s more, he’s not the youngest member of the crew. If some Lloyd-related tragedy could occur, it’s plausible that it would be down to natural causes, or a freak accident on the ranch. The cowboys have been injured when doing their jobs before, so it’s not unheard of.

But, still, as far as rankings on the Yellowstone death list go, we don’t expect to see Lloyd on there anytime soon. The stakes aren’t particularly high for him, and we think Taylor Sheridan is much more occupied with the fates of bigger characters, like John, Beth, and Jamie.
