Wedding Impossible, a fresh K-drama, follows a talented actor as she navigates a unique chance to shine by aiding her friend in a staged marriage.

For K-drama fans, 2024 has a long list of dramas to sink their teeth into. Wedding Impossible has fans’ attention as it tackles a well-known trope that fans have seen plenty of. The friends-to-lovers trope is a classic and often leads to a worthwhile storyline.

Per the trope, it often has a male and female lead have a platonic relationship and never truly see each other as anything more. But certain circumstances have them realize their true feelings. Add in a few speed bumps and it can be a hit.

Wedding Impossible will tackle the trope but with a unique twist that might surprise many. Here’s everything to know.

Wedding Impossible: What is the K-drama about?

An unseen actor decides to take the chance to become the lead star of her story when her chaebol heir friend wants her to pose as his wife to appease his family.

Wedding Impossible focuses on a femal actor named Nah Ah-jeong. She has always landed roles as an extra and never the lead. She’s talented but has never been recognized for her hard work and has played the role of a married woman many times before.

When her longtime male friend of 15 years, Do-han, needs help, he turns to her. Do-han is the son of a chaebol family that runs LJ Group. His family has been pestering him to get married against his wishes and has a secret. He’s gay. To get them off his back, he asks Ah-jeong to pose as his wife and their daughter-in-law.

Seeing it as the opportunity of her career, she accepts. But there’s a problem. Lee Ji-han is Do-ha’s younger brother who has his own scheme up his sleeve to get his brother to become CEO. His older brother’s wedding announcement derails his plan. To put things back on track, he tries to thwart the marriage and brings in Yoon Chae-won as his brother’s possible suitor.

Instead of Ah-jeong falling for her longtime friend, it seems Wedding Impossible is adding a twist with Do-ha’s younger brother.
