Dune star Rebecca Ferguson has admitted that she once told a co-star to “f**k off” after he began screaming at her while filming and was constantly “angry” on set.

When it comes to the world of acting, the way in which an actor behaves on set has become a bigger and bigger issue. With movements such as MeToo and more, Hollywood has made great strides in recent years to make the workplace a more equal place for men and women.

When asked in a new interview when she had been proudest of using her own voice, Dune star Rebecca Ferguson admitted that her proudest moment involved putting her foot down when a co-star began “screaming” at her during a former project she worked on.

“I did a film with an absolute idiot of a co-star,” she began. “And this human being was so insecure and angry because this person couldn’t get the scenes out.

“I think I was so vulnerable and uncomfortable that I got screamed at. I would cry walking off set. This person would literally look at me in front of the whole crew and say, you call yourself an actor, this is what I have to work with? What is this?”

Ferguson then continued. “This happens, but because this person was number one on a call sheet, there was no safety net for me. So no one had my back. And I remember the next day I walked on and I said, you get off my set.”

The actor then finally revealed how she dealt with the issue and the fear she felt when standing up for herself.

“I remember being so scared and I looked at this person and I said you can f**k off, I’m going to work towards a tennis ball. I never want to see you again. I was so scared and I feel it now and I’m saying it, but from that moment I have never let myself get to a point where I’ve gone home and gone, ‘why did that happen?'”

Fans speculate which co-star Rebecca Ferguson is discussing

While Ferguson did not reveal which co-star she is referring to, fans online have taken note of her comments and begun speculating which co-star the Dune actor could be referencing.

Amongst fans, three names have been put forth as potential co-stars. These three men being Michael Fassbender, Hugh Grant, and Dwayne Johnson.

One Redditor posted in a new thread that, “I’m gonna guess Dwayne Johnson during Hercules. Heard some awful stuff about him”. However, others believe it could be Fassbender given accusations of domestic violence against the actor, “Michael Fassbender has a history of violence against women, so it most likely is him.”

Another added that, “Rebecca is talking about Hugh Grant. She played his wife or GF in a few scenes. Hugh Grant is known to be very grumpy according to his ex-GF Hurley.”

However, these are purely comments on the internet. Thus, do take the conjecture with a heaping serve of salt. No name has been outed so there’s every chance it has nothing to do with the three actors listed above.
