Vaggie in Hazbin Hotel Episode 6.

The drama between Heaven and Hell is heating up, even more so as Hazbin Hotel reveals the jaw-dropping truth behind Vaggie’s past in Episode 6.

The adult animated series introduces Vaggie as a spitfire and firm demon who has a heart of gold when it comes to Charlie Morningstar. She has an inherent need to protect Charlie and does whatever is possible to help her rehabilitation dream come true.

But what do we know about her backstory? The original series on Patreon doesn’t divulge much except that she’s fairly new to Hell but has a vast knowledge of the inner workings of Heaven. She’s also combat proficient and knows her way around a weapon.

But Hazbin Hotel Episode 6 has revealed the truth behind Charlie and one of the reasons why she’s so determined to see demons get redemption before the Extermination. Warning: Spoilers ahead!

Who was Vaggie before Hell?

Hazbin Hotel Episode 6 has revealed that Vaggie was originally an exorcist in Heaven before she was sent to Hell, where she met Charlie.

That’s right, Vaggie has kept a very big secret from Charlie, one that could change their relationship. In the sixth episode, Charlie goes with Vaggie through the pearly gates to speak to the head seraphim and convince them of her rehabilitation plan. It becomes clear that the angels of Heaven have a dark plan to stop Charlie at all costs – and they have something in store for Hell.

While Charlie is enthused and in awe of Heaven, Vaggie is weary. Adam comes to see Vaggie in their hotel room while Charlie is away. The truth behind Vaggie’s need to stop the Extermination is revealed. The angel Adam confronts her over the assumption he wouldn’t recognize her just because she’s out of uniform.

Vaggie is stunned speechless as he tells her he recognizes one of his “top girls.” Hazbin Hotel reveals that Vaggie didn’t just appear in Hell after dying a human. She was originally an angel in Heaven – an exorcist, in fact. One of their best.

Adam explains she was on the front lines and their best. Hence why he named her after the “best thing ever.” We can only guess why she’s called Vagatha “Vaggie.” The episode shows Vaggie taking the skies with the other executioners and relishing in killing demons.

But she has a change of heart and begins setting them free instead of murdering them. It was seen as a betrayal that led another exorcist to cut out her eye. She was told she has no place in Heaven for setting demons free and gets her throat slit. Charlie is the one that finds her and mends her eye.

Vaggie is the very monster that Charlie is trying to protect her demons from. At the trial in Heaven, the truth of killing demons is revealed. Especially to Emily, the head seraphim’s daughter who was unaware and believes in Charlie. Soon, so do the other angels watching. But Adam decides to ruin her win by revealing the truth. Charlie learns Vaggie has lied to her and is an angel.
