A brand new Jurassic Park movie is confirmed to be on the way and fans are divided as to whether they are excited to see the franchise return or not.

The Jurassic Park franchise is one of the most beloved movie series of all time. The original is often thrown into the discussion as being one of the most iconic films ever made.

However, the recent trilogy, which takes place 22 years after the events of the original series, was received less positively by fans. While some enjoyed the newer flicks, others felt as though they were unnecessary.

Now, it has been confirmed that a brand new Jurassic World movie is in development, with David Koepp set to pen the script, the same writer who developed the original Jurassic Park movie.

As well as this, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the new movie will be launching a “new Jurassic era” and could release as soon as 2025.

All across social media, Jurassic Park fans have been sharing their reactions to the news. While some are excited by the prospect of more films, others are less hopeful and would rather see the longstanding franchise be put to bed once and for all.

One Twitter user wrote, “I mean…yay in theory? Seems a little overdone at this point but I guess we’ll see what they come up with.  At least the survival game looks amazing.”

However, another stated, “It’s time to stop. The last one was already stretched out. Dinosaurs have gone extinct, it should stay that way in the movies too, at least for a while.”

As well as this new movie, a brand new video game, Jurassic Park: Survival, was announced at the 2023 Game Awards. With fans excited to see this title finally released after years of development and speculation.

Time will tell what kind of fresh story this new Jurassic Park movie tells and if it is able to live up to the heights of the original. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as more news about the upcoming film is revealed.
