Nvidia has revealed its new Chat with RTX app that allows users to create their own AI chat bot similar to ChatGPT.

Since January 2023, Generative AI chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Microsoft CoPilot, Google Bard (now known as Gemini), and more have taken over the internet. Nvidia has made it clear that they want to get into the industry as well, with AI-focused GPUs and various updates to existing gaming hardware.

Now, Nvidia has revealed its new Chat with RTX app that allows users to create their own custom AI chatbot for personal use.

Nvidia now lets you create AI bot thanks to Chat with RTX

Revealed in a blog post, Nvidia’s Chat with RTX app is now available with a free download for those using an RTX 30 series GPU or higher.

You’ll have to have 8GB of VRAM or higher as well, so some laptop users with mobile chips like the RTX 4050 will be left out of the new feature as it has just 6GB of VRAM.

The Chat with RTX app uses what Nvidia calls “retrieval-augmented generation” and TensorRT-LLM software with RTX acceleration to bring generative AI capabilities to the desktop.

Users will be able to add local files as a dataset, enabling queries like “What was the restaurant my partner recommended while in Las Vegas?” that will then search files to find the information.

Nvidia says that users can also include information from YouTube videos and playlists, adding the contents of each video to the local database in just seconds.

The Chat with RTX app is available to download right now from Nvidia’s website.
