With help from an explosive canister, a Starfield player used their “Easy Bake Oven method” to instantly scare away a group of pirates.

Starfield’s ‘play as you want’ motif gives players lots of leeway in terms of how they approach the story and gameplay.

But no matter the approach, there are seldom ways to avoid killing enemies. Players have found it easy to escalate the violence, though. Certain guns and skills help in this regard, but explosives tend to do the trick.

In fact, one user recently put Starfield’s explosive capabilities to the test in a quick battle against space pirates.

Starfield player “instantly cooks” enemies with explosive canister

Reddit user RandyArgonianButler has shared a clip showing off their “Easy Bake Oven method” in Starfield. The method itself is rather simple.

In the video, the player picked up an explosive canister and waited for an enemy ship to land nearby. Once the door on the ship opened with a slew of pirates eager to jump out, the Redditor threw the canister inside and fired a shot.

The canister quickly exploded and dispatched every enemy in a matter of seconds. Needless to say, it didn’t take long for the door to close and the ship to take off toward the stars.

Other Starfield fans in the thread were more than impressed by the explosive canister antics. One person joked that the pirates were “instantly cooked.”

Someone else commented, “Now you’re cookin’ with gas!”

There are downsides to going this route, however, as several people noted in the thread. Most notably, this so-called Easy Bake Oven trick doesn’t allow players to loot the cooked enemies or the ship.

One such reply reads, “No loot method. Killing just ain’t fun without the corpse stripping afterwards.”

Starfield players who choose to approach enemy vessels with explosives in hand have to weigh their options. But this seems a surefire way to quickly get rid of the bad guys.
