With a highly-rated premiere and adoring fans, Percy Jackson and the Olympians is getting its Season 2.

The premiere season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians has been released on Disney+, and the show has started off on an impressive foot.

With a star-studded cast and a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score of 92%, fans of the book series are ecstatic to see the new envisioning of the realm hold up against the live-action movies in the 2010s.

The first season of the Disney+ show was only based on the first book of the Rick Riordan series called The Lightning Thief. But, there are a total of seven books in the collection.

The live-action films only made it to the second book without calling it quits. Will the Disney+ show get the chance?

Is Percy Jackson and the Olympians getting a Season 2?

On February 7, Variety announced that the second season of Percy Jackson has been greenlit by Disney+.

With the three main stars expected to return, Season 2 should pick up right where the finale left off, and showcase the transition to the second book.

In the novel, the trio heads on yet another adventure to acquire the Golden Fleece in order to keep Camp Half-Blood safe and cure Thalia’s tree before it’s too late.

Another piece of good news is that the writer’s room had already begun writing the next season before it was even renewed, so fans should not have to wait too long to get a filming update.

In the meantime, make sure to get all caught up by watching the eight-episode premiere season on Disney+ and watch the Sea of Monsters live-action film to get an idea of what lies ahead for the new cast.
