One Pokemon TCG scalper has been put on blast over their pricey eBay listing of a Lost Origin card from Sword and Shield. It’s not just the price that has left people speechless, either.

Lost Origin has several valuable cards within the set – here’s the full list, which will help guide you the next time you’re pulling from packs.

One of which is Aerodactyl V, which can come with an alternate art style, making it more valuable than others and therefore is resold regularly for a high price.

eBay is one of the most popular places to pick up cards, whether they be new or old, and deals are often shared between collectors online. On January 23, though, a listing was posted on the TCG subreddit for all the wrong reasons.

Pokemon Lost Origin card worth “$6,000” found on eBay

In the second image attached to the post is a screenshot of the listing description, featuring an interesting calculation.

It said: “Attached is a photo of the booster pack pull rate for this card, which is what justifies the price. To sum it up, it would require you to open over 2,000 booster packs to pull this card. So, if you take those 2,000 booster packs and multiply it by the booster pack price, which is $3.99, then you are left with a price well above $6,000.”

A “definite bargain” the lister concluded, saying that as a result they will not be moved on their valuation.

eBay users found that the post did have a ‘or Best Offer’ option on there, meaning that even if the seller says they won’t waver, buyers can still throw offers into the ring for consideration.

The Aerodactyl card is listed at $2,808 – they might call it a snip, compared to the $6,000 valuation – with a $50 additional delivery charge. On TCGPlayer, the very same card is being sold for $84.99 and its highest price has been just over $90.

After being shared to Reddit, a few users were quick to comment on the situation. One said: “This guy is cracked.”

Another joked: “I thought about it, but I still don’t want to pay $51 for this with his insane shipping cost.”

“This card should be accompanied by about 20k other cards when shipped .. this seller is a flop” one person concluded.

Whether the lister is sending the card via Harry Potter’s owl remains to be seen, to justify the price, but it’s fair to say members of the Pokemon TCG community are not buying what they’re selling this time.
