A Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player has been rewarded for finding an annoying glitch with a highly valuable Shiny Pokemon.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet have been available for over a year, yet fans still uncover glitches affecting their gameplay experience. These range from clipping and pop-in textures to getting stuck in the world map while moving around.

What’s frustrating about these glitches is how long they’ve persisted. The hardware of the Nintendo Switch might hinder Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s performance, but many recurring issues still linger despite being shared publically.

Not all of the glitches in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are detrimental, as being able to clip through the world has advantages, so long as it’s applied correctly. This was the case for one fan, who hit a big score through a glitch.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player wins Shiny through glitch

A user on the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Reddit has shared a video of how they glitched through the waters of the Paldea region and into a battle with a Shiny Dratini, an incredibly valuable Pokemon to a lot of players.

It seems the OP isn’t alone in this. “I found a Shiny Iron Hands that spawned in a wall,” one user wrote, “Glitch spawn Pokémon feel more rewarding to get lol.”

“I had a similar incident when the games first came out,” another user said, “I was trying to jump across a river before getting any of the Herba buffs to my ride and failed resulting in me crashing into a shiny Buizel.”

The results of this glitch are especially fortuitous, as Shiny Dratini is extremely valuable. This is because Dragonite is one of the most popular Pokemon in the world with a great Shiny palette, making it a popular choice for single-player runs or trades, especially if it has good stats.

Pokemon fans have benefited from glitches since Gen 1, with MissingNo spawning infinite Rare Candy and Master Balls. Unfortunately, this Pokemon Scarlet & Violet glitch appears to be a one-off occurrence — otherwise, everyone would be going diving in the Paldea region.
