The Chansey Community Day has the Pokemon Go community divided, with many labeling the event particularly “lackluster” while others claim it was ultimately a “successful event” for all.

Pokemon Go events have been and always will be a controversial experience for many players. Every time an event or Community Day is released, players flock to catch their beloved pocket monsters, with thousands hunting Shiny’s, Hundos, or a rare mixture of both.

Unfortunately, the Community Days don’t always land as well as Niantic hoped, which is the case for the recent Chansey event. Now, many players are slamming the event, calling it “lackluster” and “lame.” However, not all players are on the same page.

“Lame” Chansey Community Day divides Pokemon Go community

Sharing their frustration on Reddit, one Pokemon Go player asked the community: “So did anyone actually like Chansey Community Day.”

“I thought this community day was very lackluster” explained the poster, going on to say that “Chansey brings nothing exciting when it comes to grinding out an event like community day because the Pokemon is not good for either PVP, Raids or both.

While finding the Community Day to be relatively boring, the poster suggested how Niantic could have made the event feel a little less “lame,” explaining: “If it had been double catch xp it would have made it better since it was easy to land excellent throws on it.

The poster’s thoughts were certainly echoed by many in the community, but not all agreed. In fact, some found the opposite to be true, labeling the event “pretty successful” and stating how “Today was a win” and well worth all the time they spent exploring.

“My husband and I spent 3 hrs together. We each caught 14 shinies. And got to enjoy a beautiful winter day. All in all, today was a win” commented one user, explaining how great the day was for their Shiny hunting, which is a key aspect of most Community Days.

However, not all fans loved the day, with one highlighting how “it made me realize how much of a grind candy and egg hatching is, I wasn’t even catching Chansey, grubbin candy was way more enticing.” Community Days are prime pickings for candy grinding, and many use the time to hatch tons of eggs and catch as many as they can so they can level up any Shundos or Hundos they get hold of – but that can occasionally feel like a grind, as it did for this player.

“I had a lot of fun today. Haven’t enjoyed one this much in a while” added one user, revealing just how much fun they had with the event.

While it may not have been for everyone, there’s still plenty to be said for the Chansey Community Day, and many fans are hoping this shows a rise in this event and this Pokemon’s popularity.
