Pokemon Go’s new Party Play mode comes with its own Party Challenge rewards, but players are unhappy with the quality of the loot on offer, especially with all of the hurdles involved.

Pokemon Go has a new Party Play Mode that encourages players to work together, but the fanbase has been expressing its dissatisfaction with the Party Challenge rewards due to how paltry they are for the work involved.

The Party Play mode in Pokemon Go allows up to four players to work together to complete special challenges. These can include catching lots of Pokemon, using a specific number of berries in Pokemon encounters, or spinning lots of PokeStops.

Unfortunately, there are lots of caveats involved. The most frustrating is that Pokemon Go’s Party Play mode has a one-hour time limit, which means players have to rush to complete the challenges. The mode also currently doesn’t work with Routes, though this could change in a future update.

Pokemon Go players are unhappy with the Party Challenge rewards.

Pokemon Go’s Party Challenges have come under fire on the official Pokemon Go Reddit due to how poor the rewards are. A user posted an example where using 35 berries to help catch Pokemon rewarded the players with four Razz Berries, so players would actually use more berries than they’d earn from the challenge.

There is also a reward for spinning 20 PokeStops or Gyms, which is a measly six basic Poke Balls. Players could get more than that by just spinning PokeStops without being in a Party and being able to take their time.

One user said, “What?! You don’t want to use 30+ Pokeballs to get 3 Great Balls?!!!” which perfectly encapsulates the problem with Party Play. Another user complained, “I don’t really mind the rewards, wish the party lasted for more than an hour though,” referring to the mode’s strict time limit.

It is possible to cycle through rewards by restarting the party, but the game could simplify things by giving the player a list of Party Challenges to work from, allowing them to tailor their experience to the needs of the group. More importantly, the rewards need to be better to justify the effort.

Pokemon Go’s Party Play mode is still in its early stages, so there’s a chance that these issues will be fixed over time. Right now, it might be better for players just to seek out these rewards while soloing unless they need something to do when preparing for their next Raid.
