Fan art shows the Pokemon Spinda in Animal Crossing

Fans of Pokemon and Animal Crossing have been clamoring for the franchises to come together for years, and while nothing official is on the way, one artist’s concept is getting fans very excited.

It’s probably fair to assume that if Nintendo ever decided to properly combine Pokemon and Animal Crossing, it just might break the internet. The adorable Pocket Monsters would be a perfect fit as villagers, and many fans have been saying this for years.

Plus, it’s not so wild an idea, as Animal Crossing New Leaf on the Nintendo 3DS included villagers based on other games such as Splatoon, The Legend of Zelda, and even Monster Hunter. So, where’s my Jigglypuff villager Pokemon? I’ll pay you.

While any official collaboration might not be on the cards just yet, thankfully the world is full of talented people, and one particular artist has imagined what it would be like if Pokemon and Animal Crossing crossed over, and it’s glorious.

Spinda joins Animal Crossing in amazing Pokemon x AC fan art

An artist by the name of Beefu has shared a post on X, revealing their concept for including Pokemon in Animal Crossing New Leaf for the Nintendo 3DS, and it works better than it has any right to.

Beefu’s concept includes a short video, with an Animal Crossing villager based on the Pokemon Spinda, in an adorable 3D polygonal style that emulates the design of Animal Crossing New Leaf.

Fans are going wild for the art in the comments, with one person saying, “You don’t know how badly I want this to be a real game 😭😭 I’d play it so much, so cute!!”

Another comment adds, “I’ve had thoughts about Pokemon/AC crossover for a while, I love this!” Before one person also comments, “Holy moly. I really need a village with 10 spindas in my life.”

Sadly it’s just a concept for now, but fans would clearly love to see some Pokemon added to Animal Crossing as villagers, even if it was DLC. Maybe one day Pokemon will make their own Animal Crossing style game, Poke Park Resort perhaps?
