Palworld players frustrated with “grindy” Condensing mechanics

Palworld lets you significantly boost your Pals’ power by Condensing the ones you can do without. Unfortunately, the massive grind involved has disheartened some Pal Tamers.

To call Palworld well-loved is probably a bit of an understatement. The unexpected hit has drawn in millions of concurrent players and become a certified phenomenon.

The game expertly blends its cutesy visuals with a slightly morbid undertone. Players the world over are hooked on catching Pals, building bases, and forcing those Pals to work as indentured servants.

Of course, Palwolrd isn’t immune from criticism and players have begun identifying some cracks now that the hype has plateaued. Reddit user u/Zenka_The_Myth pointed out some flaws with Palworld’s Condensing mechanic to widespread agreement.

The assertion is that “Condensing is too grindy”, and honestly, there’s a lot to back that up. “At the moment you need 117 Pals to get 1 that is fully Condensed,” the player explained. “This is a ludicrous amount.”

When you consider the amount of resources that go into crafting Palspheres and capturing Pals, there’s definitely a point to be made here. Condensing Pals allows you to upgrade a Pal’s Partner Skill but the effort involved can be a little prohibitive.

Players seem to agree with the sentiment and many have complained about the amount of Pals needed for the process. “I totally agree it’s much too much to get one good or great Pal,” one user said. “I don’t mind grinding to get what I need or want but the numbers could be more player-friendly.”

Other Pal Tamers also pointed out that limited storage in your Palbox makes the Condensing grind even more intense. “Storage needs to be improved by a lot. Would be nice if we could create mini pal boxes that we can store pals in as well so we can organize a bit better,” another player put forward.

how to trade pals with others in palworld
I’d sacrifice 1,000 Pals for maximum damage output on my Pengullet rocket launcher.

u/Zenka_The_Myth’s suggestion to halve the values required for Condensing in Palworld would go a long way towards reducing some of the hassles.

For our money, the addition of a setting to adjust this in Palworld’s already vast suite of sliders would make the most sense.
