Rockstar Games’ finances may hold the biggest GTA 6 hint yet

Rockstar Games may have confirmed the development of GTA 6 in their yearly financial records as a report from TaxWatch UK states they’ve received a “ huge increase in claims for Video Games Tax Relief.”

Even though Grand Theft Auto V is still going strong and plenty of players are putting hours into GTA Online, many fans are still awaiting news about the next installment in the series. Although Rockstar has yet to officially announce anything, players have been searching high and low for clues in the current title.

However, one of the biggest hints yet may have come from Rockstar themselves, as their annual financial accounts have revealed – showing that they got a pretty sizable increase in Video Games Tax Relief for 2019 – even though the only game they published was Red Dead Redemption 2.

GTA V was hugely successful for Rockstar but there hasn’t been a follow-up title just yet.

According to a report from TaxWatch, Rockstar received £37.6m in Video Games Tax Relief from the UK government for 2019. To be eligible for this relief, the titles they create have to be ‘culturally British,’ which is a classification that GTA has fallen under previously.

TaxWatch also state that the “claim is believed to relate to the production of the next edition of GTA” even though Red Dead also helped them qualify for the relief by also being tagged as ‘culturally British.’ However, the size of the payout is also “likely related to the production costs of GTA VI.”

Red Dead Redemption was Rockstar’s only release in 2019.

Of course, with Rockstar not making anything known about the existence of GTA 6, it’s unknown whether or not the game is actually in production and TaxWatch’s belief is possibly incorrect.

However, Rockstar did issue a statement to vg247, saying that the tax reliefs have allowed them to create” 1,000 highly skilled and long term jobs across London, Lincoln, Yorkshire, and Scotland.”

There have been a few hints about a possible release from GTA V hints and unconfirmed leaks, a video game site with a history of revealing release dates before announcements does have GTA 6 listed as a 2020 release.

Whether or not GTA VI will be announced, or possibly even released, anytime soon still remains to be seen.

Terrible GTA Online bug makes it impossible to use bunkers

GTA Online players are still having their bunker business missions ruined thanks to a bug that won’t let them enter their not-so-secret base.

For the longest time, the best way to make money in Grand Theft Auto Online came through jobs and heists. Players would have to grind them out, over and over again, to be able to stack up cash.

Eventually, Rockstar Games brought businesses into the fold – allowing players to make money passively, before having to complete one delivery job at the end for an absolutely huge sum of money.

The most lucrative of these jobs center around bunkers and the Gunrunning business, where, as the name suggests, you become an arms dealer. However, some players are struggling to run their businesses properly.

Owning a bunker will unlock GTA Online’s Gunrunning business options.

The problem isn’t an overly complicated one, instead, it’s just simple. Players can’t access the bunkers. No matter if they’re on foot or in a car, the yellow circle that you usually use to enter just won’t do anything.

What that means is, players like Reddit user TheAlphamale82, are left to drive around in circles hoping that something might change. But, sadly, it doesn’t and you end up locked outside the bunker unless you want to restart the game.

However, not even a restart is a magic cure, as the problem can still persist in other lobbies. It really is a peculiar problem – and it is one that is affecting different players.

[Bug/glitch] R* please fix this, this is getting really annoying. I am unable to resupply my bunker by stealing supplies and before this was recorded someone was having the same problem from GTAV

Others like Aberfergie and r3d-v3n0m noted that they have run into the issue as well, and that they’ve flagged a ticket with Rockstar Support. However, while the devs have supposedly said they’ll work on it, they haven’t found a fix.

The winter update, which will bring the Cayo Perico heist to GTA Online is right around the corner, and that update should address some issues. Hopefully, the bunker problem is one of them.
