The Finals players have demanded that Embark Studios add in a new ability to replace Recon Senses that is similar to a mechanic from Splitgate, and the Splitgate developers have responded.

The Finals players have been fed up with the Medium Class ability Recon Senses, which essentially give players wallhacks to a certain degree. In a popular post on the game’s subreddit, a player posted his solution for a replacement ability.

They suggested giving players the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device from Valve’s Portal. Other players agreed that it could be a good idea, however, it could be hard to implement due to The Finals’ destruction element.

“The destruction in this game should explode every computer and it works because of magic. Don’t tempt fate,” one Reddit user said.

The suggestion has gotten some steam on social media, for its similarity to another free-to-play shooter mechanic.

The Finals players want Splitgate elements

An FPS game with portal guns already exists in the form of Splitgate. The title is still online, however, its developers have shifted focus towards releasing a new game in the same universe in Unreal Engine 5.

The game’s social team is still fairly active and has responded to the post about The Finals players wanting elements of its title in the new shooter.

They posted a gif on former President Barack Obama shrugging, suggesting that players should just play Splitgate if they want an FPS game with portal guns.

But The Finals players seem to want a new ability that can add some more movement to the already fast-paced gameplay.

“I played so much Splitgate preparing for this moment. Please add the portal gun,” one player commented in the Reddit post.
