In order to play fetch with your Palamute in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, you’ll need to follow the simple instructions outlined below: 

  1. Choose the Palamute you wish to play fetch with from the Buddy Board
  2. Select any quest or expedition. 
  3. During the quest, use the D-pad and scroll over to the ‘Wait!’ option.
  4. Press up on the D-pad.
  5. Walk up to your Palamute and press the RB button (Xbox), R1 (PlayStation), and R (Switch), Shift (PC).

If done correctly, your canine companion will run after the ball and bring it back to you.

It’s important to note, that you’ll only be able to play fetch when there are no monsters nearby, so make sure you find a safe area away from any toothy terrors.
