Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2’s Battle Pass continues to draw division amongst fans, with the Medusa skin leaving some fans very underwhelmed.

Chapter 5 Season 2 of Fortnite is underway, taking players through a tour of myths and legends as the new season introduces Fortnite to Greek mythology.

Aside from the new Mythics, locales, and NPCs, the Battle Pass is full of Greek-themed goodies for fans to earn like Zeus, Cerberus, and Artemis.

However, the newest Battle Pass continues to draw flack, as players debate whether the developers could’ve done more with the cosmetics.

Fortnite players divided on Medusa Battle Pass skin

Much of the fan disappointment with the Battle Pass skins has been regarding the concept art versus the final implementation. Aphrodite is a prime example, as fans labeled it a “major downgrade.”

Medusa’s skin is the current topic of debate amongst players, although one player shared how they think the skin was well done, compared to the criticism Aphrodite faced.

“This skin is amazing. Whoever designed her outfit did God’s work. It’s OK if you disagree. We all have different tastes but, this is absolutely top 5 Epic-created Battle Pass skin, at least for me.”

A few players shared their love for the skin: “Medusa is my favorite skin this season! It’s great that they put a Fortnite spin on the gods.” Another simply said: “My favorite version of her.”

Yet much of the criticism came from fans feeling like this skin is underwhelming, highlighting a trend they feel Epic Games is following.

“My gripe with the skin is Epic seems to have gotten lazy with battle pass skins over the years. They used to sometimes throw in some cool features for them like Mave’s transformations or Midas turning everything he touches to gold. The Fortnite version really just seems like a lady with snakes for hair. Kinda of a letdown.”

Other sentiments felt similar, as fans were quick to compare the concept art to the final product. Time will tell what Medusa’s in-game presence will be, although she and many other Battle Pass skins will definitely remain a touchy subject.
