Honor have announced yet another Fortnite Battle Royale collaboration with Epic Games, as a brand new skin has been revealed and will soon be made available for their customers.

The new cosmetic is expected to be made available to buyers of the brand new Honor 20 or Honor 20 Pro mobile phones at some stage, with the flagship handheld devices being launched on May 21.

What could be the next addition to some players’ Fortnite Battle Royale skin collection was revealed to the public during the launch event of the smartphones in London. This move means that there will soon be two Honor exclusive skins in the popular battle royale game, with the HONOR Guard Fortnite Outfit already in the game.

Epic Games / SamsungHonor will be hoping their new Fortnite Battle Royale skin launch goes a little smoother than Samsung’s last project with the developer.

While the press conference was light on information, where the new skin is concerned, fans can expect to see a release date announced shortly.

The skin, or outfit, will be called the HONOR Wonder Outfit and will feature a metallic purple costume and the character has bright blue hair, very different to many other offerings in the Fortnite Item Shop.

“With the release of the HONOR 20 Phone, there will be another exclusive skin that will come to all users that own the phone,” @FNBRLeaks posted to Twitter on May 21. “Here’s the first look of it from the HONOR Livestream.”

Honor will be hoping that their exclusive skin is added to the game in a smoother fashion to that of Samsung’s in March, where they made the iKONIK skin available for buyers of the Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+ or S10e devices.

Their launch of the iKONIK pack was plagued with issues as Epic Games accidentally made it available for all players to pick up from the Item Shop, meaning that it wasn’t as exclusive as customers had been led to believe.

This news shows that previous mistakes don’t seem to have had any significant impact on future relations with other major players in the mobile industry, and fans will be looking forward to some more details from announcements in the future.

We will continue to update this article as and when more information is made available to us.

Epic confirms Fortnite World Cup 2021 has been canceled

Epic Games has confirmed that they have “no plans” for any live events next year, including Fortnite World Cup 2021, all but canceling the event. It’s something many fans expected but still feared, even though most understand it’s necessary.

Fortnite’s competitive scene is one of many that have been rocked in 2020. It was something nobody anticipated or expected, at least, in terms of how severe an impact it would have on the world.

Unfortunately, we’re not out of the woods yet, and that means there’s still a spanner in the works. Epic Games has decided it’s still too risky to host live events anytime soon.

They’ve opted to cancel all live events in 2021, including the Fortnite World Cup. They laid it all out in their latest blog post.

The Fortnite World Cup is the premier event in the Fortnite competitive scene.

“Our intent is to eventually hold global in-person tournaments again, but our priority for any such event is the health and safety of our players and staff,” they said. It’s a sentiment that other organizations have shared.

“With so much still unknown about what is practical and safe, we do not plan to hold in-person events in 2021, including a Fortnite World Cup,” they added. However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be any competitions at all.

“We will continue to provide online competitions throughout 2021 with the hopes that physical events, in some form, can return at some point in the future,” they said.

It’s crazy to think that we might still be a year away from seeing LAN esports events again. However, it’s a sensible decision given the circumstances.

Fortnite fans will need to wait at least another year before seeing a LAN tournament.

It’s bittersweet news for fans and players around the world. They’d love to see competitive LAN events in the Fortnite scene once again.

But at the same time, it’s good to know that Epic Games has everyone’s best interests at heart. They aren’t willing to risk anything, which is nice.
