DoorDash driver breaks down after being given $80 ticket for parking in “free” space

A DoorDash driver went viral after she was charged $80 for parking in a “free” space while they made their delivery. The worst part is that she was only tipped $1. 

TikToker Vico has gained a big following on the platform. He regularly posts reactions to viral videos, and in one of his newer uploads, he showed DoorDash driver receiving a $80 ticket for parking in a space she thought was free. 

This DoorDash driver pulled up to her destination … and parked in what she thought was a free space. Goes up to the fifth floor, comes back down to find an $80 ticket from the cops. And the customer only tipped her $1… How is that fair?” he asks, relaying the situation. 

The video then cuts to the DooDasher in question, who says: “I didn’t wanna pay to park because I can’t afford to pay to park, OK? I was only gonna be gone for like, four or five minutes. So I found this parking lot. It didn’t say anything about paying.

“If you know, you work in a fucking building where there’s no parking. Meet the doordash person outside… Do you know how long it’s gonna take to make $80? Like, 80 extra dollars through DoorDash… She tipped me a dollar.”

People sympathize with DoorDash driver

After Vic shared the video, people were quick to sympathize with the DoorDasher’s plight, with many noting the unfairness of the situation. 

“Government buildings that have several floors need a few spots for food delivery,” one demanded. 

“Same thing happened to me that’s why I don’t do DoorDash anymore. I feel her pain.”

“I always make the customer come down to me if I have nowhere to park. Communication is the key,” another advised. 

Some however, were unsympathetic, and said that the worker should have been more astute: “She should have made sure she was in a safe parking spot. How is that anyone’s fault but her own. She just said she didn’t wanna pay.”

Another DoorDash worker went viral, after they ate a customer’s food order because they didn’t tip.
