A Twitch streamer’s setup burst into flames right in the middle of his bowling competition, destroying over $5,000 in equipment and burning his hand.

It’s no secret that Twitch streams offer up some of the wildest content on the internet.

From broadcasters catching thieves in the act to streamers getting attacked by wild monkeys, there’s never a dull moment on Twitch… especially when it comes to IRL streams.

One man was in the middle of broadcasting his bowling competition on Twitch when the unthinkable happened, causing panic at the bowling alley and leaving viewers worried.

Twitch streamer’s power bank catches fire, destroying $5.4K worth of equipment

Finnish Twitch streamer and DJ ‘TurunPug’ was in the middle of a bowling tournament when he noticed that his setup was smoking.

Viewers could see the smoke coming into frame as members of TurunPug’s team pointed out the issue, causing the streamer to take action.

As TurunPug and his mates scrambled to deal with the smoke, the broadcast suddenly ended, showing the panicked streamer with an orange glow cast over his white t-shirt — apparently, his power bank had caught on fire.

After things died down, TurunPug went live again to showcase the damage that was done to his setup. According to the broadcaster, the fire damaged around €5000 ( or $5.4K USD) worth of his streaming equipment.

That isn’t the most painful part of the ordeal, either. The streamer also burnt his hand trying to drag his flaming backpack, where his power bank and other equipment were stored, out of the bowling alley and into the snow outside.

He also shared CCTV footage from the bowling alley at the time the fire sparked in his backpack, showing the bag bursting into bright orange flames and him running out of the building to mitigate the danger.

It looks like viewers were seriously impressed with his quick thinking and the immediate action he took in an effort to stop anything else from catching on fire. Luckily, the streamer didn’t get any other injuries and the fire department was even called to the location — a good ending in spite of the thousands of dollars of damage to his equipment.
