EA FC 24 career mode bug is crashing save files by scouting referees

An EA FC 24 career mode bug is crashing save files by youth scouts recommending assistant referees as players.

Career Mode has always been the game mode for players to build their dreams in football, either as a young aspiring player or as a manager leading your team from the dugout, becoming the second coming of José Mourinho and leading a team to glory.

And as a manager, you’ll need to do what any football manager would. Create the best team, balance the finances, keep your players happy, and especially, scout young talents by setting up scouting networks.

However, it seems the scouting networks are giving some players problems, as a bug in it is crashing save files by recommending some really odd players.

Reported by a Reddit user on the FifaCareers subreddit, the player reported that their scouts recommended them to sign a player with Overalls and stats in the negatives, with the supposed playing position being where an assistant referee would be.

“My youth scouts may have just recommended me an assistant referee,” the OP said of the bug.

But, many other players were quick to tell the OP to not sign or use the odd player as it could potentially crash or ruin their save. Unfortunately, the warning came too late, as the OP said, “That probably explains today’s rollback of the database.”

The weird bug in question recommends a player with an odd age of 2024, with an overall of “-6–6” and stats so bad it might be impossible to create such a bad player without mods.

Unfortunately, this is a bug that has been around for a while, with players reporting the bug a week before this post. So if you ever come across a suspicious player your scout recommends, it is probably best to stay clear of it.
