Diablo 4 Season 3 is in the early stages of its launch and despite a recent uptick in player perception, this new season feels lacking to some.

Diablo 4 Season of the Construct is live and there are a bunch of new mechanics and class balance changes to shake up the game. Unfortunately for the developers, these aren’t being as well received as popular additions to Season 2.

The player discourse surrounding Diablo 4 Season 3 at this early stage is skewing rather negatively. In particular, players have had issues with the new Vault dungeons and their “annoying” traps.

Despite the fact that Diablo 4 Season 3 is currently in its infancy, players have been delivering verdicts on social media. It’s not just the Vaults people seem to be having issues with either, one post on the Diablo 4 Subreddit called the entire season “a great step backwards”.

“I played Season 2 for at least 200 hours on hardcore. The Blood Harvests were fun and had density, the rewards felt impactful,” the original poster qualified. “This season is the complete opposite and painfully unfun.”

They highlighted the familiar issues with the Vaults and traps therein but also took aim at Diablo 4 Season 3’s mechanical companion The Seneschal. “ I’m not sure if my robot is doing anything while I am fighting. To put it another way, if I had no robot at all, it wouldn’t make a difference to me.”

Many users in the thread seem to agree with the sentiment despite the short timeframe that Season 3 has been in circulation. Some are even opting to skip it entirely.

“Played the s**t out of Season 2 and loved it for the most part,” one player explained. “Jumped on earlier to see how season 3 is and I played for about 30 minutes and logged off, I’ll wait for season 4.”

So far, players of Diablo 4 Season 3 are not impressed with the utility of The Seneschal.

It may seem a little early to give a definitive criticism of Diablo 4 Season 3 but it hasn’t stopped players from voicing their opinion on the new mechanics introduced.

Season 2 is admittedly a hard act to follow after so many improvements were made to the experience.
