Destiny 2 players are over the moon with the new Skimmer vehicle, with players claiming that they’re better than Sparrows.

Destiny 2 has just released the Guardian Games for 2024. The event sees the classes take on each other in an all-out battle to see who will reign supreme. This involves players collecting medals by completing various Competitor Cards in turn for rewards of varying sizes.

Alongside the new weapon introduced for the new iteration of Guardian Games comes the Skimmer. This hip new vehicle is the first of its kind to be introduced to Destiny 2, taking on the likes of a skateboard that Guardians can scoot around on.

Players have absolutely fallen in love with the new vehicles, elated that Bungie introduced an insanely fun vehicle category.

Players have discovered the ins and outs of Skimmers, and have realized that they’re far stronger than Sparrows.

“They can jump, they can grind on strand-rails (basically, once activated you create a rail to grind on and never lose height unless you jump off) and the energy they use is tied exclusively to these moves, not the boost,” one Reddit user posted.

Some are excited to see what new tech Guardians can combine together, allowing for the highest skill ceiling movement in Destiny 2.

“Gotta say after ten years I don’t think a strict increase is the worst thing in the world, can’t wait to see what people get up to with the air grinding, grapple, and eager edge stuff.”

Others discovered glitches that allowed them to fly with the Skimmer, making them even stronger than Sparrows with Sparrow Flying.

With Skimmers being a brand-new addition to Destiny 2, it’s likely we’ll see more cosmetic variants and more in the future, truly cementing it as the top option for movement in Bungie’s looter shooter.
