Destiny 2 is introducing a new vehicle type for the first time in a decade as a reward for the upcoming 2024 Guardian Games event.

Destiny 2 is in a bit of a lull at the moment. With delays to The Final Shape announced, players have been biding their time waiting for new content to get their hands on. Season of the Wish is still ongoing, but there’s no new story to experience, meaning players are just continuing their seasonal grinds.

Bungie has released and revamped older content to incentivize players to keep playing the game. This has included a new Crucible mode, new rewards for ranked PvP, and bright dust gifts for logging in week to week.

Now, devs are also bringing back the Guardian Games for 2024, with a new vehicle category being introduced as a reward.

Destiny 2 Skimmer Reward
Players can grab a skimmer as a reward from 2024’s Guardian Games.

The Guardian Games for 2024 will see the introduction of the Skimmer vehicle. This new vehicle category will go in the same slot as a player’s sparrow and can be used to grind rails and do tricks.

According to a recent TWID, the new Skimmer will be available as a reward from the Guardian Games 2024. Players will want to grab the quest from Eva Levante to obtain the reward for the first time. You’ll then need to complete the Drop In quest in order to keep a permanent Skimmer as a reward.

Players can also pick up a beloved Destiny weapon as a Skimmer from the in-game Eververse store if they’re willing to cough up the Silver for it.

It’s likely that these new vehicles will function similarly to the way Sparrows do, but with a more skateboard theme and aesthetic, allowing Guardians to truly live out their rad dreams.
