HRM-9 in Modern Warfare 3

The HRM-9 is the latest submachine gun in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, aiming to disrupt the short-range meta and beat out weapons like the WSP Swarm. Here’s how to unlock it, with the challenges needed.

The SMG meta hasn’t been particularly open in recent months, especially in Warzone, where the best WSP Swarm reigns supreme.

Now, a new one is being added to the collection, with the HRM-9 arriving in Season 1 Reloaded of Modern Warfare 3.

Here’s how you can get the new weapon and start piecing across multiplayer and battle royale.

Adding the HRM-9 to your armory in MW3 and Warzone shouldn’t be too difficult, you just need to complete the Classified A21 Sector of the Battle Pass.

The final challenge for the HRM-9 will unlock after completing all of the below challenges:

  • JAK Thunder LMG Kit: Get 10 Operator or special Zombie kills while ADS with an SMG
  • JAK BFB: Get 10 Operator or special Zombie hipfire kills with SMGs
  • Cranium Cracked emblem: Get 10 Operator headshot or special Zombie critical kills with SMGs
  • 30 minutes double XP: Get 10 Operator or special Zombie Tac Stance kills with SMGs
  • HRM-9: Get 20 Operator or special Zombie kills while moving with SMGs

Alternatively, you can exfil the weapon in Zombies to unlock it.

In the Season 1 Reloaded blog post, the HRM-9 was described as “a light yet stable 9mm submachine gun for close quarters combat and putting down enemies quickly.”

This could make things interesting in the close-range meta, though it sounds very much like a gun that will excel in extremely close-quarters combat, similar to the Fennec for example.

The HRM-9 isn’t the only new gun in the Season 1 Reloaded update, as the TAQ Evolvere LMG is also added to the game.
