The end of Solo Leveling Episode 2 made fans believe that it was the end of the road for Sung Jin-Woo. That is because we see him almost getting butchered by the monstrous statue in the dungeon. So, does Sung Jin-Woo die? Let’s find out.

Solo Leveling is a popular Korean Manhwa series that comes with an amazing storyline and battle sequences. Moreover, what makes the series a success is the protagonist, whose character development is worth appreciation.

The Manhwa’s anime adaptation was one of the most anticipated projects of all time. A-1 Pictures finally decided to bring the anime to fans, and so far, the studio has done an incredible job with the animation and direction.

The first two episodes made us fall in love with Sung Jin-Woo, so it’s no wonder every fan is worried about the E-Class Hunter. The fandom wants to know if and how Jin-Woo will survive the S-Class Dungeon.

What happened to Jin-Woo in Solo Leveling Premiere?

Jin-Woo, our main protagonist, cannot even get an upper hand on a lower-rank beast. He goes by the name of “humanity’s weakest hunter.” None of the hunters respect Jin-Woo, as they consider him useless. So, he is accompanied by a healer on every mission.

However, hunting the monsters in dungeons is the only way for him to earn a living. So, when presented with an opportunity, Jin-Woo is initially reluctant, but he eventually decides to go deeper inside the dungeon out of necessity.

As usual, Jin-Woo again fails as a hunter after being injured. He doesn’t get killed; instead, he gets severe injuries, which are healed by Joohee. After that, the troop of hunters reached a place full of big statues. Initially, the lights in the room attracted them, so some wanted to scout the area.

However, before they could, the place started showing its weird nature. Jin-Woo started observing the statues, and finally, Joohee realized that the big statue’s eyeballs moved behind them.

Initially, Jin-Woo doesn’t believe her, but soon, he learns that Joohee isn’t lying. The environment of the room suddenly changed as the gigantic statues started walking and killing the hunters who weren’t following the commandments of god.

Eventually, almost everyone gets killed by the statues. Jin-Woo helps the others to survive with his analytical skills, but he loses a leg, which renders him helpless.

So, he ultimately decides to sacrifice himself for the sake of his remaining peers. We see Sung Jin-Woo getting attacked by all the statues, and in the end, our boy is left bloodied with one of the statues moving its axe to kill him.

Does Sung Jin-Woo die in Solo Leveling?

No, Sung Jin-Woo doesn’t die during his Dungeon experience in the first two episodes of Solo Leveling. Of course, seeing Jin-Woo’s condition, anyone would think that the boy wouldn’t survive the whole ordeal.

However, not only does Jin-Woo come out alive, but he also becomes incredibly strong after his experience with the Statue of God.

Apparently, Jin-Woo and his peers were being tested by a supernatural entity called the Architect. The Hunters had to follow the commandments of God to stay alive until all the blue flames were extinguished.

And, well, right before the statue could land its final blow on Jin-Woo, the timer runs out. So, you could say that Jin-Woo passes the test, and as a reward, the Architect grants our boy “The System.”

“The System” will allow Jin-Woo to level up by beating different bosses inside Dungeons. Defeating different monsters will help Jin-Woo rise in power and get access to several powerful weapons. Eventually, Jin-Woo will become the strongest Hunter on the planet after passing the final level of Architect’s test.

Jin-Woo will become a force to be reckoned with, surpassing even the S-Class Hunters. Our protagonist will become so strong that he’ll even beat the Statue of God, the same stone puppet that almost killed him in the first two episodes.

Of course, Jin-Woo will go through several near-death experiences during his journey, but he never dies in the Manhwa series. He becomes an overpowered character who finally serves his ultimate purpose: saving humanity from the wrath of the Monarchs. Jin-Woo also commands an enormous Shadow army after becoming the vessel of the Shadow Monarch, Ashbron.
