The eccentric instructor always ranks high in popularity polls, and fans absolutely adore him. His global popularity not only comes from his lovable personality but also from his appearance, which fans always gush over.

Gege Akutami is unhappy with Gojo winning any Jujutsu Kaisen poll
On Valentine’s Day this week, JJK leaker shared old poll results on Twitter/X featuring the winners from 2020 and 2021.
In 2020, Gojo won first place, and the next year, he got third place. Gojo was sealed in January 2020, completely disappearing from the story for almost three and a half years. He returned in May 2023 and started the battle of the strongest. However, even though Gojo wasn’t part of the storyline, he was still as popular as ever.
Gege making salty comments about Gojo isn’t new to Jujutsu Kaisen fans. In 2019, Gojo won the popularity poll during the Jump Festa. Gege shared a special art along with a piece of advice to Gojo fans, “Those who voted for Gojo. Especially women. Here’s some friendly advice. Pick Nanami.”
Unlike Gojo, Nanami was Gege’s favorite character. Hence, when Nanami won the poll in 2021, the mangaka shared, “I’m relieved that Nanami’s popular.” This is a far contrast to his comment about Gojo: “I guess he isn’t dead yet!”
It’s not just the Valentines’ Day poll; Gojo ranks really high in the overall JJK popularity poll as well. In the first one, he snagged third place. He ranked 2nd and 3rd in the second and third polls, respectively. He also won the Animage popularity poll in 2023.
In 2023, Gojo not only got unsealed in the manga, but he fought the best fight of the series. Additionally, his past arc in the second season of anime, showed his youthful side, making him all the more likable.
