woman gets shunned at gym

A gym told a mom-to-be that her outfit was too inappropriate to wear while working out.

TikToker Emi, a former bodybuilder, often works out. However, when she recently showed up to her gym five months pregnant, the owner had something to say about her clothing.

Despite other gym-goers being in even more scandalous attire, Emi felt targeted by the owner of the gym, who “dress-coded” her.

Shocked, Emi shared her story to TikTok where viewers came to her defense.

Viewers think gym owner’s wife was jealous of pregnant woman

In Emi’s now-viral TikTok, she said how there are multiple photos of bodybuilders in thongs and bikinis posted on the wall of her gym for inspiration.

So when the owner approached her mid-workout to tell her that her tank top and leggings were inappropriate, Emi said she was “shocked.”

Though the owner was the one to tell Emi she couldn’t workout while wearing what he defined as a sports bra, it was his wife who felt uncomfortable with Emi’s outfit.

But when Emi looked around the gym, she saw that women who were actually wearing sports bras weren’t being spoken to — so why was Emi sought out? Could it have been because she was pregnant?

After sharing her story to TikTok, plenty of viewers jumped to Emi’s defense, “The outfit is beyond appropriate.”

Another added, “I was expecting something super tiny but there isn’t ANYTHING wrong with ur outfit.”

Many viewers also called out the owner’s wife for being jealous of Emi’s beauty, “You’re definitely a topic at their dinner table. His wife’s a hater because you’re gorgeous.”

And, “She was BIG jealous. You look amazing and that was way out of line.”

Though Emi was puzzled and “embarrassed” by what happened, she did not specify if she’d be going to that gym again. The owner did, however, suggest she get a membership elsewhere.
