Pokemon Go solo raiders roast “brutal” Master Ball research task

Pokemon Go trainers have found the unskippable timer when solo-raiding “brutal” thanks to the recent Master Ball Research.

Many Pokemon Go fans will remember that Niantic began testing a brand-new feature called “Ready to Raid” in late July 2023, which allowed trainers to expedite the Raid timer countdown.

Unfortunately for those trainers who prefer to play alone, the “Ready to Raid” feature won’t apply to them, meaning they’ll have to sit through the entire two-minute countdown no matter what.

Now, solo raiders have discovered just how “brutal” this caveat can be thanks to the Master Ball research task that requires trainers to win 60 Raids.

Pokemon Go solo-raids slam Master Ball task

A post on the Pokemon Go subreddit, titled, “60 Raids requirement shows how brutal the unskippable timer can be for solo-raiding,” sparked a discussion among the community.

The OP explained that “The task of raiding isn’t so bad, but waiting 2 UNSKIPPABLE MINUTES to solo a 1-star Wooper that would otherwise take less than 10 seconds?”

They continue and say that the time that adds up to over 60 Raids is just too much. “Multiply that by 60 over the course of the season is 2 hours just waiting for raids to start.”

Fellow solo raiders in the comments echoed the sentiment that doing 60 Raids felt daunting. “Every other requirement for the master ball is very doable for me, but the 60 Raids is making me nervous. I’m just gonna have to try my hardest to do one per day. But jeez I got a job and stuff…,” said one trainer.

Additionally, many fans — including the OP — were frustrated that the “Ready to Raid” feature didn’t extend to those players who prefer to take on Raids alone. “I can’t believe they got so close to fixing this issue and still missed the mark.”

This isn’t the first time the community has expressed frustration at this feature’s limitation, but it’s unclear if Niantic has any plans to change it going forward. Thankfully, fans have until November 21, 2023, to complete the Master Ball research in the Adventures Abound season.
