Pokemon Go players have begged Niantic to stop setting quests that require Egg-hatching as temperatures drop during Winter months.

Pokemon Go’s events usually feature one or two Research quests that players can take on to earn rewards and encounter Pokemon.

These Research quests have plenty of different tasks to complete. Some require powering up Pokemon, catching specific Pokemon types, or hatching Eggs.

However, some players have called on Niantic to stop focusing on Egg-hatching quests as temperatures plummet during Winter.

Pokemon Go fans want Niantic to halt Egg-hatching quests in Winter

A post on the Pokemon Go subreddit sparked a discussion among fans when one trainer posted the following: “Can Niantic stop with the egg research tasks?!”

In the thread, the OP explained, “For the past 2 weeks the temperature has been close to 0°C or below, which means that going out wasn’t something I can do for long. But for the last 2 events the majority of the field research has been hatching eggs.”

In particular, the Lustrous Odyssey event and Dazzling Dream event both have multiple Field Research tasks centered around hatching Eggs.

The OP went on to explain, “If it was any other season or the hatch distance was lowered I wouldn’t mind, but it’s Winter for half of the world.”

Many fans shared in the trainer’s pain and noted hatching Eggs would be difficult for them as well. “It’s -15°F where I live [right now]. Hatching is going to be a pain if not impossible,” said one fan.

Others shared tips on how players could stay warm and still hatch Eggs. “If anyone is fortunate to have a treadmill it counts your distance as long as that app isn’t open,” one user said.

Of course, some noted how unfeasible it would be to tailor quests around changing seasons considering Pokemon Go is a global game. “Niantic is not responsible for your climate. It’s a global game and in many places in the world right now it is excellent weather for going for a walk,” argued one player.

Hopefully, trainers can manage to stay safe and warm while completing their Research tasks during the coldest months of the year.
