Season 1 Reloaded introduces sweeping changes to every corner of MW3 and Warzone, including this highly underused lethal equipment.

Season 1 Reloaded has finally hit MW3, bringing a noticeable amount of content for players to explore until Season 2 arrives. Of note, The Boys makes a return with new skins and an LTM, Rio joins the map pool, and new modes also debut.

While the infusion of content is nice, all eyes patiently turn to the patch notes, with plenty of issues needing addressing. This patch delivers sweeping changes to weapons, maps, and much more.

However, tucked deep in the notes is a mighty change to one of the game’s most underused lethal grenades.

Season 1 Reloaded massively buffs Thermobaric Grenade

The Thermobaric Grenade is a recurring lethal equipment in the CoD franchise that serves as a juiced Molotov Cocktail. Players can cook and throw it, and it’ll explode on impact while leaving a fiery residue. As well as this, when players are hit, they will receive increased explosive damage dealt to them as well.

As it stands, the Thermobaric Grenade arguably is one of MW3’s weaker lethal equipment pieces, with Frag Grenades, Breacher Drones, and Drill Charges taking priority. Given they used to wreak havoc in Vanguard, Sledgehammer Games’ previous work, it seems like the studio aimed to tone down Thermobarics with MW3.

But, that seems like that’s going to change with MW3’s Season 1 Reloaded. In the patch, it states the lethal equipment has gained a 200% increase to its minimum explosive damage, raising it from 25 damage to 75.

With the patch targeting meta weapons like the MCW, changing Hardpoint rotations, and addressing other issues, it’s easy to see how the changes to the Thermobaric Grenade could be missed.

It’ll likely be some time before players catch on to the Thermobaric Grenade change, so be sure to get the jump on your enemies in MW3 and Warzone lobbies.
