Jujutsu Kaisen fans think Gege Akutami “hates” Gojo

Jujutsu Kaisen is a popular dark Shonen anime and manga series. The series has several iconic characters, but fans mostly feel drawn toward the cool sensei, Satoru Gojo. However, despite Gojo’s global popularity, not everyone seems to like him – especially the series’ creator.
Time and again, the mangaka would drop comments about fans’ beloved characters, making them speechless with the evident dislike toward the strongest sorcerer of the modern era. The eccentric instructor always ranks high in popularity polls, and fans absolutely adore him.
However, shortly after Gojo won a major popularity poll, Akutami shared his advice to fans who voted for him. The message is especially for women.
Why Jujutsu Kaisen fans believe Gege Akutami hates Gojo
Popular Twitter user JJK (Mya) recently shared an old art by Gege Akutami after Satoru Gojo won a popularity poll in Jump Festa 2019. Along with the art, Gege Akutami also gave fans advice: “Those who voted for Gojo. Especially women. Here’s some friendly advice. Pick Nanami.”
After all, it’s no secret that Nanami is Gege’s favorite character. As per Comic Book, Gege Akutami shared in an interview from 2022: “At the beginning, my favorite was Sukuna. Mainly for his graphic aspects, which are inspired by everything I had read. Nanami is the first character I managed to create by myself and evolve. So he is my favorite character at the moment.”
As for Gojo, the mangaka couldn’t be more salty even if he tried. After the massive success of the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc, Gege shared a special message thanking the animators for their hard work. In his long message, Gege simply commented about Gojo with a cute doodle: “The mob characters also got that top-tier animation, huh.”
After all, Gojo is literally the protagonist of the entire arc, so calling him a mob character can’t be accurate. However, that’s not the only time Gege was bitter about Gojo.
According to Viz Mangaka Musings, Gege Akutami shared in January 2020: “Now that Gojo is gone, it’s looking like 2020’s gonna be a good year.” He made this comment when fans were heartbroken after watching Gojo get sealed in the Shibuya Incident arc.
Before that, Viz Mangaka Musings also shared his comment from November 2019: “Something Satoru Gojo doesn’t have… Probably a personality.”
Jujutsu Kaisen fans are once again speechless after Gege Akutami’s old comment about Gojo resurfaced. One user commented: “This was when he decided Gojo needed to go, or maybe he did the poll to find out if his death will hurt.”
Another fan shared: “Gojo’s first hater was his own creator…”
One fan also commented: “This man straight up hates Gojo so much without any solid reason.”
While Gojo stans are upset about this comment, some Jujutsu Kaisen fans also support Gege. One fan commented: “I would not blame Gege for picking Nanami. He’s literally the greenest green flag.”
One user also commented: “As a fellow Nanami lover, I APPROVE LOUD AND CLEAR.”
