MatPat leaves hidden message in his final Game Theory YouTube video

MatPat real ending

After lasting on YouTube for over a decade across multiple theory-based YouTube channels, MatPat has posted his final video on the Game Theorists channel before he goes off to greener pastures.

MatPat announced his retirement a while ago, but that time has come, as his final video has gone live on the YouTube channel he started over a decade ago.

Game Theory won’t be stopping, and MatPat will still be on YouTube and in other places as a guest and a part of big events (events he spoke with us about in an exclusive interview). However, his presence across the Theory channels will be drastically diminished. He’s not quite retiring, but this is as close as it gets.

With MatPat’s final Game Theory video, one of YouTube’s biggest and longest-running chapters has ended. But those who don’t look a bit closer will miss the “real ending.”

MatPat’s “real ending” to Game Theory

Rather than fizzling out and fading into the background like many OG YouTubers have before him, MatPat has decided to give each of his four Theory channels over to their own hosts during a sendoff in his final Game Theory video.

The first of six endings, the one shown at the end of this video, has him finally getting an on-camera appearance with Scott Cawthon, the creator of Five Nights at Freddy’s, a game that was a huge part of his Game Theorist’s channel growing into what it is today.

However, there are five other hidden endings, endings that were part of a scavenger hunt that’s been going on across the last YouTube videos he’s done since he announced his retirement.

The last video of the six is the so-called “True Ending,” which contains a casual conversation with his hosts in the moments after he finished shooting the video, as well as a lengthy message to his fans.

Here’s the last bit of that message:

“Remember, this isn’t an ending. Well, technically, it IS an ending because it’s the Real Ending, but you get what I’m saying. This isn’t an ending. Instead, this is a brand new and exciting beginning. And that’s not a theory. That right there, that’s a fact.”
