Valorant players demand devs get rid of map pool rotation

Valorant players are calling on the Riot devs to get rid of the map pool rotation, claiming it’s unnecessary to “limit” the number of maps.

Valorant launched with just four maps, Haven, Split, Ascent, and Bind, but now close to four years after the game’s release, there are 10 maps for players to enjoy — including the several Team Deathmatch exclusive maps.

Since Episode 5, Riot has implemented a map rotation for Ranked play and esports competitions. Pearl, Haven, and Fracture are the latest to be removed from the queue as of Episode 8.

However, Valorant players are asking Riot to get rid of the map pool entirely and let them play all 10 maps in Ranked play.

Valorant players want map pool rotation removed

On February 24, a Valorant fan suggested in a Reddit post that the devs bring back all maps, explaining they believe it’s unnecessary for Riot to limit them in the first place.

“I don’t think it’s necessary for Riot to be taking certain maps out of the map pool,” they wrote. “I think the game would feel much more fun if Pearl, Haven, and Fracture were brought back into the map pool with the other maps because it feels like I’m playing the same map every game.

“I just don’t see why limiting the map pool for comp is necessary when there aren’t that many maps.”

Replying to the thread, the community mostly agreed, with some going as far as to say the map pool is preventing them from playing. “I am sooo annoyed with the current rotation, I just stop playing after few games,” a player wrote.

“Yes please. The limited map pool is preventing me from playing,” said one. “Yes yes yes. We are not pros. We shouldn’t be limited to their map pool,” another added.

Some explained the reason for the map pool in the first place is due to Riot believing there are “too many maps,” while others believe it’s down to the game’s path to the top with Premier.
