Amazon Prime Video struck gold with Hazbin Hotel as the animated series ended with a bang, pleasing long-time and new fans – but will there be a Season 2?

Going into the finale, Charlie Morningstar has ruffled more than a few angel feathers up in heaven. Her plans to rehabilitate demons so they can enter the pearly gates don’t sit well with Adam or the head seraphim.

By Hazbin Hotel Episode 8, the Extermination reigns down on them and every demon in Hell. Charlie and the others fight to protect their home, hoping to stop Adam for good. Hazbin Hotel Season 1 ended with a few major deaths. As well as the return of Lucifer to help his daughter, and a shocking revelation about Lilith.

The finale left the door open for a continuing storyline that could change the fabric of Heaven and Hell. Here’s what we know about Season 2.

Is Hazbin Hotel Season 2 in the works?

There will be a Hazbin Hotel Season 2 as Amazon Prime Video made the initial deal for two seasons.

According to Deadline, in September 2023, Hazbin Hotel was announced as a new project by A24 and Amazon Prime Video. The animated series was ordered to develop two seasons. When Prime Video released the official teaser trailer in 2023, they also tagged it with, “And guess what, Season 2 is confirmed too!”

While Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger, fans likely won’t have to wait too long. There’s no official set release date for the season, but there is good news. According to The Direct, Hazbin Hotel star Erika Henningsen gave fans an update on Instagram revealing she’s already back in the recording booth. She shared the news on her Instagram stories and commented, “We back and I couldn’t be happier.”

Henningsen stars as Charlie in Hazbin Hotel and is confirmed to return for the second season. Fans can hope the rest of the main cast will return as well. Their characters still have a lot of storylines to tell. With animation for Season 2 taking some time and work, fans can probably expect it to be released in late 2024 or early 2025.

Hazbin Hotel Season 1 ended with the jaw-dropping truth that Lilith has been away in Heaven the whole time. She abandoned Hell for the pearly white gates, and had struck a mysterious deal with Lute, Adam’s head executioner. One thing is for sure, fans can expect a complex family reunion.
