One of the stars of Netflix’s The Fall of the House of Usher recently revealed which Incredibles character she based her performance on.

Writer and director Mike Flanagan recently released his latest Netflix horror mini series just in time for the Halloween season.

The Fall of the House of Usher sees the demise of an ultra rich family at the center of a corrupt, billion-dollar pharmaceutical company.

While Fall of the House of Usher isn’t limited to one color character, one cast member recently revealed the fictional character she based her performance on.

Kate Siegel channeled her inner Incredibles character

Siegel plays Camille L’Espanaye, one of Roderick Usher’s illegitimate children and the Usher family PR manager.

Camille is a cold, calculated individual who uses those around her to further her own agenda. And Siegel has unveiled who her performance was based on and it’s a very well-known animated character.

“Camille is entirely based on a character named Mirage from The Incredibles. When I was a little girl she was like, my Jessica Rabbit,” Siegel explained in a Twitter video, “Like, I thought she was the most beautiful woman I could imagine. She is the one who tricks Mr Incredible into coming [to Syndrome’s island]. Sorry to spoil all your childhood dreams, but Camille is just Mirage.”

The idea of Siegel basing Camille on a supervillain’s assistant is pretty fitting as Camille acts as a spin doctor and clean-up crew for the crimes her family’s company commits on a daily basis.

Mirage is also a cold, calculating, and cutthroat individual, so it’s not surprising that Siegel would want to channel that in her House of Usher character.

The Fall of the House of Usher is now streaming on Netflix. You can read Dexerto’s review of it here and find out if the series is connected to The Haunting of Hill House here. For more Netflix content, click here.
