Immaculate takes a wild turn when Cecilia experiences the most divine and holy act of all – she’s pregnant. The psychological horror movie directed by Michael Mohan will instill pure fear as Cecilia’s pregnancy and life within the convent take a dark turn.

The movie will be a powerhouse of horror and holiness as Cecilia fights forces beyond her control.

Immaculate movie trailer is chilling

What happens when you become the very divine act that many have waited for? The trailer for Immaculate begins with Cecilia giving confession until realizing the priest is nowhere to be found and in his place is pure darkness. While focused on the dark, hands appear from behind her and grab her. Like most trailers these days, it sets the jump-scare tone before diving into the actual story.

Cecilia’s words echo that she has no real understanding of why God saved her. Among the candle-lit halls, bathhouse, and prayer, Cecilia becomes ill. It’s soon revealed she’s pregnant. As the story goes, nuns are virgins as they are married and devoted to Christ. Cecilia’s pregnancy is seen as an act of God and divine intervention.

But her newfound purpose is overshadowed by darkness and possibly evil. She begins to see the cracks in her faith as things begin to go terribly wrong. The trailer depicts a young nun having fallen to her death, Cecilia noticing a unique interest in her pregnancy.

One of the nuns tells her, “How can we trust what’s inside you?” Is the child an act of God, or something of pure evil? Immaculate’s trailer sets the tone for Sweeney’s riveting role as a woman stuck between her faith, evil, and the true purpose of the child growing inside her.

Fans on X/Twitter are more than enthused to see the new psychological horror. With one fan commenting, “This looks INSANE – Hyped.”

Another fan praised the trailer and said, “The visuals in this are gonna be wild.”

Immaculate is set to release on March 22, 2024
